25 min by car · Gede drives you Things to do in Seminyak, Bali, guide from our Canggu villa
Seminyak is Bali at its most polished, beach clubs, white-tablecloth dinners and serious shopping. It's 25 minutes from the villa with Gede at the wheel, which is exactly how we recommend doing it: dive into the glamour, then come home to the rice fields.

Worth your time
Petitenget Temple
A working beachside temple where ceremonies still spill onto the sand in full dress. If you see a procession forming, stand back and watch, it's the real thing, not a show.
💡 sarongs are lent at the entranceBeach clubs: Potato Head and Ku De Ta
Seminyak invented the Bali beach-club day, infinity pools, daybeds and DJs that build slowly toward sunset. Pick one and commit to the afternoon.
💡 reserve a daybed ahead in high seasonEat Street (Jl Kayu Aya)
A single strip with more good restaurants per metre than anywhere else on the island, from raw bars to steakhouses. Walk it once before choosing.
💡 book dinner tables a day aheadSunset at Double Six Beach
Bean bags on the sand, cold Bintang, and a wide western horizon. Less curated than the beach clubs and better for it.
💡 claim a bean bag by 5pmBoutique shopping on Jl Raya Seminyak and Kayu Aya
Resort wear, homeware and local designers in air-conditioned boutiques, this is where Bali's fashion scene actually lives.
💡 most shops open from 10amEat & drink
La Lucciola
Beachfront Italian
White tablecloths over Petitenget sand; book a sunset table and take your time.
Sisterfields
Brunch cafe
Australian-style brunch done properly, expect a short queue on weekend mornings.
Motel Mexicola
Mexican restaurant and bar
Loud, colourful and great fun; come for tacos, stay for the dance floor.
How we make it easy
- Gede's air-conditioned 7-seater, day rate from $45, no meter anxiety
- Chef Wayan packs a picnic or books the table you actually want
- Tickets, guides and timings arranged before you finish breakfast
- Cold towels and water waiting in the car on the way home
Why stay in Canggu and day-trip to Seminyak?
Here’s our honest take: Seminyak is wonderful for a day and an evening, but you don’t need to sleep in it. Its hotels sit on busy streets, and what you’re paying for, the beach clubs, Eat Street, the boutiques, is all within a 25-minute drive of the villa. Base yourself on our rice-field lane in Canggu instead: mornings start with Chef Wayan’s breakfast and a swim in the 16-metre pool, and Seminyak becomes a destination you visit on your terms, not traffic you live inside.
Making the trip easy is Gede’s job. His air-conditioned 7-seater takes you door to door, he knows which lanes dodge the evening crush, and his day rate starts from $45, so he can drop you at Potato Head at noon, move the car while you’re at dinner on Jl Kayu Aya, and have you home before the frogs finish their chorus. Sarah will happily book your restaurant table when she confirms the car. Message her on WhatsApp with the evening you have in mind, and consider it arranged.

You're already here Canggu
Komang was born in Berawa, and the villa sits on a subak lane between Berawa and Batu Bolong. This is Canggu the way the family who lives here uses it, which beach for which mood, where Chef Wayan actually shops, and when to go.

Temples, terraces and the ridge walk, Ubud rewards a full, well-planned day. It's 1 h 15 from the villa with Gede driving, which means you can do the terraces before the tour buses and still be back for a sunset swim.

Limestone cliffs, world-class surf breaks and the kecak fire dance at sunset. Uluwatu is the furthest day trip we suggest, and the one guests talk about at breakfast the next morning.
